Musical Theatre Classes Explained

Musical Theatre is a new section in our Festival, and has been designed to support the growing development of (what is commonly referred to as) the ‘triple threat’ performer. Musical Theatre’s tripartite approach includes drama, song, and movement.

When designing your entry for the MT classes, you should consider this ‘triple threat’ as your guiding light. You will be expected to demonstrate your talents in all three areas.

Performers should devise a spoken scene that establishes the character’s setting, mood and situation, and of course, it should be appropriate to the musical’s storyline. Your devised scene then typically leads into the song – which should also be in keeping with the devised scene. Movement of course, is integral throughout.

Any questions of course, please contact us on RWBArtsFestival@gmail.com

Good luck!
